Test Management and Strategy
TestPro provides senior level support to a complex international integration project. We present analysis to the senior management with a detailed summary of problems that are faced by the testing team and a strategy to resolve them.
The strategy focuses on practical measures that consist of a revising the test organisation structure. Furthermore, we mentor in testing disciplines and the techniques of domain experts tasked with testing. We highlighted the need for and subsequently established a Test Coordinator role to ensure that the testing teams work efficiently within project timelines and verify immediate pre-requisites and any potential road blocks in test cycles.

Yancoal is an Australian based coal producer and developer of open cut and underground coal mines.
Yancoal was looking for a firm assurance that when the SAP system went live, the response times would be within their expected Service Level Agreements. If the network became overloaded with excess traffic and the new system did not operate effectively there would be direct negative impact on their normal business activities, potentially costing them thousands of dollars.
Yancoal engaged IBM Business Partner TestPro, an Australian leader in the field of software testing. Using a detailed discovery and design process, TestPro identified the scope of the project and addressed each of the key requirements – including a rigorous verification phase. Using IBM Rational® Performance Tester, along with IBM Rational® Functional Tester integrated with TestPro’s own TAF Pro to test remote site response times and deliver the confidence needed in rolling out its new ERP system enterprise-wide.
Using TestPro’s expert consulting services and TAF Pro, Yancoal received conclusive proof about how the applications on remote sites would respond within defined time limits.
Yancoal achieved full system and application tuning and optimisation, significantly lowering the risk of performance issues surrounding the rollout. This was a huge benefit for the business as it operates in a rigorous 24/7 environment.
